MY REVIEW

Melissa Oliver's Her Unforgettable Knight is a captivating tale of love, loyalty, and the courage it takes to trust once again. Blending the allure of a medieval setting with the thrill of romance, Oliver has woven a rich tapestry that draws readers in from the very first page.

The protagonist, Marguerite, is a strong and resourceful woman, hardened by her circumstances and the reality of her time. Despite her past, she remains relatable and admirable. Her character is the very embodiment of resilience, making her a memorable heroine. When the brooding knight Savaric unexpectedly reenters her life, Marguerite's world is thrown into a whirlwind of conflict, both external and internal.

Savaric is an equally compelling character, layered with a deep and palpable sense of remorse. He is a man seeking redemption in a harsh and unforgiving world. His brooding character contrasts beautifully with Marguerite's fiery spirit, creating an electrifying dynamic between the two. Their unexpected reunion adds a layer of suspense and anticipation that makes it hard to put the book down. I loved that the book included a mystery too!

The narrative delves into themes of race, trust, scars (both physical and emotional) and forgiveness, asking how much one can forgive for the sake of love and loyalty. Oliver handles these themes with grace and sensitivity, allowing readers to grapple with these questions alongside the characters. The intrigue of their roles in protecting the Crown gives the plot an added twist, making the stakes even higher and the suspense more thrilling. The medieval setting is wonderful, transporting the reader into a world of knights and spies, chivalry and betrayal.

In Her Unforgettable Knight, Melissa Oliver creates an unforgettable journey through the trials and tribulations of love in a time of danger. The story is intensely emotional, intricately plotted, and filled with well-drawn, complex characters who will stay with you long after the final page. A compelling read for anyone who appreciates historical romance imbued with heart, suspense, and unyielding love.
